Atif Aslam is a Pakistani singer and actor who has become immensely popular in India for his unique vocal delivery in songs. This article showcases a list of the best Atif Aslam Bollywood songs.

Atif Aslam was born in Wazirabad, Pakistan. He spent his kindergarten days in Lahore after which he moved to Rawalpindi for his studies at St. Paul’s Cambridge school. After spending 4 years in Lahore, Atif returned to Lahore and continues his schooling at Divisional Public School, Lahore. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Punjab College.

While in college Atif Aslam formed the band ‘Jal’ meaning water… with young composer Goher Mumtaz. Together the duo played at restaurants and other venues.

Atif Aslam and Goher Mumtaz recorded the song ‘Aadat’ roping in Salman Albert, a popular musician in the Pakistan music scene for assistance. The song ‘Aadat’ became an instant hit and received significant airplay on a number of websites promoting Pakistani bands. The popularity of the song compelled the duo to come out with a music video and the music video for the song ‘Aadat’ was shot in one day in Karachi at a warehouse. The song became immensely popular in Pakistan, and based on the popularity of the song, Jal began touring different parts of Pakistan. While on tour, personal problems between Atif Aslam and Goher Mumtaz led to a verbal duel which led to Atif Aslam quitting the band. 

After quitting the band Atif Aslam released an album titled ‘Jal Pari’ which became excessively popular with the youth in Pakistan. And although the war of rights over certain songs that Atif Aslam had released with Jal continued, Atif’s music became insanely popular on radio station and promotional music websites. While the war over copyrights and song ownership continued, Atif Aslam received a call from Mukesh Bhatt, and Indian film director seeking consent to use the song ‘Who Lamhey’ in the soundtrack of his movie Zeher released in 2005. The song was included in the movie and became a massive hit is India. From there on Atif Aslam’s popularity escalated new heights in India. Atif Aslam’s emotive vocal delivery touched hearts and suddenly Atif Aslam’s songs became a rage in India.

Over the years Atif Aslam has recorded songs for a number of Bollywood films. His unique vocal register is perfectly suited for soulful ballads and melancholic slow rock. Atif Aslam has toured and performed the world with Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Kailash Kher to name a few. Atif Aslam has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, London alongside Jay Sean aside from other major concert venues in the UK. Atif Aslam’s tours in US, Canada and South America have been memorable with every concert being sold out. Atif Aslam has also toured the Middle East on numerous occasions.
